BSB50120 Diploma of Business

Purpose of Qualification

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of business contexts who apply specialised knowledge and skills and wide-ranging, closely specialised theoretical and practical knowledge in a range of contexts. Individuals in these roles carry out a range of activities in varied or specialised contexts, providing some leadership and guidance to others with some responsibility for the output of others. This qualification provides a pathway to work in business environments across multiple industry sectors.

Learner Characteristics / Client Cohort

Target groups for BSB50120 Diploma of Business are international students who are: seeking a career in business, administration, or management; seeking to develop foundational business skills; or seeking a pathway to higher education qualifications. Credit and/or RPL can be provided for those with existing skills and knowledge.

Pathways

After achieving BSB50120 Diploma of Business, individuals could progress to BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management, BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management, or higher education studies in business, commerce, or related fields. Possible job outcomes include: business analyst, office manager, administration manager, executive assistant, and program coordinator.

Qualification Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. To enrol, students must: be at least 18 years of age, have completed at least the equivalent of Year 11, meet the English proficiency requirement (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent), and have appropriate Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) levels as determined by Clinton Institute's LLN test prior to enrolment. For international students, it is a condition of entry that upon acceptance, students provide evidence of having an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500).

Assessment Modes

Clinton Institute uses a range of assessment methods to accommodate different learning styles. These may include: written assignments and reports, case study analysis, projects and presentations, portfolios, and workplace projects.

Compulsory Work Placement Arrangements

Students may be required to complete practical workplace projects as part of their course to gain real-world business experience.
