Does Clinton Institute Arrange Aged Care Work Placement? What the Process Actually Looks Like

Published: August 17, 2026 | Clinton Institute (RTO 41597, CRICOS Provider: 03540C) | Melbourne

Yes — Clinton Institute (RTO 41597, CRICOS Provider: 03540C) arranges all aged care work placements with approved partners including Arcare, Opal Healthcare, and Benetas. You don't need to find your own placement. Here's exactly how the process works.

Who arranges the placement?

Clinton Institute arranges 100% of your placement. Unlike some training providers that expect students to find their own aged care facilities — often the hardest part of a certificate course — Clinton Institute's placement team handles the coordination from start to finish.

That means no cold-calling facilities. No rejection letters. No wondering if your placement will come through in time for your course to finish on schedule. Clinton Institute has established partnerships with three major aged care providers in Melbourne.

Who are the placement partners?

Clinton Institute places students with three of Melbourne's most established aged care providers:

  • Opal Healthcare — one of Australia's largest aged care operators with facilities across Melbourne
  • Arcare — a private aged care provider known for person-centred care models
  • Benetas — a not-for-profit aged care organisation with a long history in Victoria

All three are registered approved providers under the Australian Government's Aged Care Act 1997. They meet the quality standards set by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. Clinton Institute has formal agreements with each partner — you are placed as a student, not a job applicant.

What does Clinton Institute arrange before placement starts?

Before your first shift, Clinton Institute handles:

  • A formal agreement between Clinton Institute and the facility covering student insurance, supervision requirements, and assessment obligations
  • Briefing the facility supervisor on your course, learning outcomes, and what you need to demonstrate
  • Scheduling orientation at the facility so you know where to go on day one
  • Sending you a placement confirmation letter with the facility address, supervisor name, shift times, and contact details

You will never arrive at a facility without knowing exactly where to go, who to ask for, and what to wear.

Can I choose which facility or location?

Clinton Institute tries to accommodate location preferences where possible. If you live in the northern suburbs, the team will prioritises a facility within a reasonable commute. However, placement cannot be guaranteed at a specific facility — it depends on availability during your intake and the facility's capacity to take students.

If you have a specific request, raise it with the Clinton Institute placement team before your intake begins. The team is the best point of contact for placement logistics: admission@clinton.edu.au.

What if something goes wrong during placement?

Clinton Institute's student support team stays connected throughout your placement. If you have issues with your supervisor, shifts, or the facility environment, you contact Clinton Institute — not the other way around. The placement team can intervene, liaise with the facility, and if necessary, arrange an alternative placement.

This is one of the key differences between studying at Clinton Institute and self-arranging placement through another provider. You are not left on your own to resolve workplace problems.

"Students sometimes tell us they're worried about finding placement. We take that worry away completely. Clinton Institute arranges everything — Opal, Arcare, Benetas. You focus on your studies. We handle the logistics."

— Laiju Thomas, CEO, Clinton Institute (RTO 41597)

Does placement count toward CRICOS course requirements?

Yes. Work placement is a mandatory component of all CRICOS-registered aged care courses at Clinton Institute. For CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (CRICOS 115261A), you complete a minimum of 120 placement hours. For CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support (CRICOS 115262M), placement hours are also mandatory and arranged by Clinton Institute.

The hours you complete at Opal Healthcare, Arcare, or Benetas count directly toward your course completion. Clinton Institute reports placement hours as part of your academic record.
